How to correctly plant roses

Once you have made your puchase and brought you roses home, there are a few important tips on planting them.


Firstly unwrap the paper or plastic from the rose roots and carefully seperate the roots by inserting your fingers through the bottom center and gently shaking, try to do this over a bucket so you dont waste any of the dirt falls as that will have nutriants in it and can be used when potting or planting.



When planting in the ground i recommend using a pot to plant in first, this restricts the roses from spreading everywhere and keeps them at a neat size.



Take your pot or hole that you will be using and put a nice layer ( approx 2-3 inches deep )of any type of medium stones in the base, roses like to have a well drained area, this also promotes growth.

Next, using some premium potting mix make a mound in the centre of the pot like a mini mountain or large ant hill , place the rose in the pot so the roots are draped over the sides of the mound, then fill up the rest of the pot with the premium potting mix, leaving approx 1 inch from the top of the pot.

Now you have successfully planted you rose !
